I’m over on the Viewfinders blog on this fine Friday. You should totally click over and see what I was up to last weekend.
Did you all know I am a regular contributor over at the ViewFinders? I have been writing with this group of woman for several years now and although sometimes it feels overwhelming to have an article deadline looming, I love that I have a place of incredible inspiration, friendship, and diverse photographic voice.
The work I share on the blog isn’t client work like it usually is here. But rather, adventures of my own. It’s a place I go to push and pull my photography. To stretch my craft like taffy and see where I land when I jump a little bit higher and further than my comfort zone normally is. I follow the light, I stop the car, I walk a little more slowly, and wander down roads I might not if I didn’t have a camera attached to me almost all of the time.
When I write a post for the ViewFinders I am often reminded of one of my favorite Story People quotes:
There are things you do because they feel right & they may make no sense & they may make no money & it may be the real reason we are here: to love each other & to eat each other’s cooking & say it was good. – Story People
In this case, the cooking is photography and the visual feast that this international group of female photographers presents to me daily. We all know how food always tastes better with good friends at the table. Thank you Viewfinders, for constantly pushing me to be better, do better, and to keep exploring this amazing world of photography!

I am thrilled to announce the launch a brand new photography collaboration. It’s been hard to keep this quiet as the 14 other woman and I have been working behind the scenes getting things set up and ready. But today, we LAUNCH and the site is beautiful.
Photography is so much more to me than just clicking a button. I love the community (like these silly humans in the photo below who I met through an a year of self-portraits class).
Take a walk on over to the new Viewfinders and have a look around.
